Senior Project Manager / PMO – Large Environmental and Climate Projects

Job Description:

As part of its development, G2P is looking for a Senior Project Manager to ensure the coordination, strategic monitoring, and successful execution of complex projects with an environmental or climate component (climate funds, bilateral cooperation, multi-stakeholder or regional projects).

The PMO will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, in conjunction with technical teams, institutional partners, donors, and operational service providers. They will play a key role in the structuring, steering, risk management, and reporting of high-stakes projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operational project planning (timeline, milestones, deliverables, budget)
  • Implement and monitor project management tools (dashboards, indicator tracking, information feedback tools)
  • Coordinate internal teams and external technical partners
  • Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, monitoring sheets, and contractual documents
  • Identify and manage operational and strategic risks
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders (donors, ministries, NGOs, implementing agencies)
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables (compliance, consistency, deadlines)
  • Contribute to knowledge management and continuous improvement of project management processes

Desired Profile:

  • Master’s degree or higher (project management, engineering, environmental sciences, international development, etc.)
  • Significant experience (minimum 8 to 10 years) in managing complex projects or multi-stakeholder programs, preferably in the climate, environment, sustainable development sectors
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methods (Gantt, RACI, performance indicators, risk management)
  • Project management certification or training (PRINCE2, PMP, PM²…) highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of the requirements of international donors (GCF, GEF, AFD, UNDP, World Bank…)
  • Demonstrated skills in inter-institutional coordination, technical report writing, and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Thoroughness, organizational skills, ability to adapt to multicultural and constrained environments
